WAS Design, Inc. is a landscape architecture and land planning firm headquartered in Foley, Alabama with offices in Mobile, Alabama; Jackson, Mississippi; and Pensacola, Florida. From conceptual design through construction documentation and observation, WAS Design provides a wide range of professional design services including site, amenity, and landscape design, community planning, urban design, and marketing graphics. Our work covers various markets, including resort and hospitality, commercial, institutional, municipal, community design, and residential estates.
WAS is seeking a skilled and talented Landscape Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate should have 2-5 years of professional experience and a degree in Landscape Architecture or related field. The Landscape Architect will be responsible for designing and managing a variety of projects from conception to completion, including parks, residential and commercial developments, and urban design projects. Positions are open in our Foley office.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and other professionals to develop project proposals and designs.
- Create detailed plans and drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software and hand-drawn sketches.
- Conduct site analysis and research to understand environmental, cultural, and social factors that may impact the project.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and schedules for projects.
- Select appropriate materials, plants, and other features to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of the project.
- Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments to plans as needed.
- Lead project teams, including contractors and other consultants.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to ensure that their expectations are met and that the project is completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field.
- 2-5 years of professional experience in landscape architecture.
- Strong design skills and ability to create plans and drawings using CAD software and hand-drawn sketches.
- Understanding of environmental, cultural, and social factors that may impact the project.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with clients and other professionals.
- Knowledge of plant materials, hardscape materials, and construction techniques.
- Familiarity with local and state regulations and codes related to landscape architecture.
- Ability to manage project teams and oversee the work of contractors and other consultants.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
