WAS Design, Inc. is a landscape architecture and land planning firm headquartered in Foley, Alabama with offices in Mobile, Alabama; Jackson, Mississippi; and Pensacola, Florida. From conceptual design through construction documentation and observation, WAS Design provides a wide range of professional design services including site, amenity, and landscape design, community planning, urban design, and marketing graphics. Our work covers various markets, including resort and hospitality, commercial, institutional, municipal, community development, and residential estates.
WAS Design is seeking motivated team members for two entry level positions or those with 0-2 years of work experience in a professional office. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally in a team-oriented environment and creative culture of landscape architects and design professionals. Positions are open in our Foley, Jackson & Pensacola offices.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support as a project team member
- Participate in schematic and preliminary design exercises
- Produce design development drawings and 3D graphics
- Prepare construction documents and details for landscape, irrigation, and hardscape elements
- Prepare construction estimates and bid forms
- Perform various technical and administrative tasks
Qualifications:
- BLA from a four-year college or university
- Eagerness to thrive and learn in a team environment
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Capability of producing hand graphics and sketches to communicate design intent
- Proficiency in AutoCad, LandFX, and SketchUp
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator)
- Knowledge of landscape construction and materials
- Aptitude to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to arrange program elements on a site logically/optimally
- Ability to determine appropriate landscape materials for programmed space in the US Southeast region
- Ability to draw details of construction materials, transitions, and assemblies
- Ability to design grading and drainage for a project site
- Ability to design irrigation systems
